The 15 -year -old girl, who was allegedly set on fire by miscreants at Balga of Puri, was brought out of AIIMS Bhubaneswar and was taken to AIIMS Delhi for further treatment on Sunday.
Professor (Dr.) Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director (Dr.) of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, said the girl’s condition is currently stable and will be transferred from a special chartered flight.
Biswas told ANI, “Their condition is stable. The patient is safe to move. They will be transferred from a special chartered flight. The patient will go there. It has already been informed to AIIMS Delhi.”
Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Saturday that the state government will take the minor girl set by miscreants in Puri to AIIMS in Delhi by airlifting for advanced medical care as per the advice of doctors. The victim is currently undergoing treatment in AIIMS Bhubaneswar in 70 percent of the burnt condition.
The Chief Minister said, “We are reviewing the situation. The state government is ready to take him to Delhi AIIMS for advanced treatment if needed. Although the victim is burnt up to 70%, he is still able to speak. I have talked to the director of the hospital …. According to the advice of doctors, she will be airlifted and taken to Delhi AIIMS.”
He further said that investigation is going on to find out the cause of the incident. He said, “Whoever is responsible will be caught. The reasons for this incident are being investigated and investigated to find out whether there was any conspiracy. The government will ensure a strict punishment under the law.”
Meanwhile, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief Naveen Patnaik has strongly criticized the ruling BJP government in the state, saying that such incidents against women in Odisha are now almost coming to the fore.
The incident took place under Balanda police station in Neemapada block of Puri. The incident came to light a few days after the self -immolation case of a student at FM (Auto) College, Balasore.
