In the Lok Sabha, Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi criticized Assam Chief Minister Himant Vishwa Sharma for alleged objectionable remarks against women and asked him to apologize.
Gogoi posted on the social media forum ‘X’ on Sunday night and said, “The Chief Minister’s allegation is condemnable that women had to ‘compromise’ to get jobs during the Congress rule.”
He said, “making such comments in a political rally during the panchayat elections is going to drop the level of politics of Assam.”
Gogoi said that the women of Assam are extremely respected and strong.
He wrote, “From the freedom struggle till date, the women of Assam have always made the society proud. The Chief Minister should be so mature to apologize. ”
Chief Minister Sharma cited the report of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) in the year 2013 and 2014 examinations during the Panchayat election campaign on April 28, Cited the report of the Justice (Retired) Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission, who is investigating irregularities in the years 2013 and 2014 examinations. Following this statement, the Assam Congress had filed complaints against Sharma in several police stations on Thursday for alleged objectionable remarks about women.
However, the police have not yet registered an FIR and officials say that complaints are being investigated.
