Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah termed the Israeli attack on Iran as ‘unfair’ and regretted the Western powers remaining silent against the Russian attack on Ukraine. He said that the increase in tension would affect India. Umar Abdullah told reporters, “As far as I know, Iran did not give Israel a reason for this attack. Israel launched a war on a country by calling it a pre-infection … Israel did what Russia did in Ukraine.”
He warned of the situation to deteriorate further. The Chief Minister said, “Of course, the situation will deteriorate. It will have immediate effect on us. This will affect our fuel prices, stock market and flights to the west. But even more, it will affect people’s sentiments.”
He said, “It would be a matter of great regret if the superpowers of the world remain silent on it … The big powers of the world like America and Europe raise their voice against Russia, but they remain silent in the case of Israel. If it is wrong to attack another country of a country, as is in the case of Russia, it is not right for Israel to attack Iran here too.”
This morning, Israel launched a “East-Nivart campaign” against it, targeting Iran’s nuclear program. In a video statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the “very successful initial attack” carried out by the Israeli army. He said that Israel, through its massive military operations, called ‘Rising Lion’, “Iran’s main enrichment facility” and “Iran’s major nuclear scientists working on Iran’s bomb”.
Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military campaign is to eliminate the existence threatened by Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
Netanyahu said in a video statement posted on X, “A few moments ago, Israel started Operation Rising Lion, which is a target military campaign to eliminate the Iranian threat to the existence of Israel.” He further said that this mission “will continue for the number of days it takes to end this danger.”
The Israeli Prime Minister accused Iran of pursuing the nuclear weapon program despite global warnings and said that Tehran has a stock of rich uranium which is capable of making many nuclear bombs. “In recent years, Iran has produced sufficient amount of uranium to make nine atomic bombs.”
Netanyahu compared the situation to the preface of World War II and referred to the massacre, “Eighty years ago, the Jews were victims of the massacre carried out by the Nazi rule. Today, the Jewish state denies to fall victim to the nuclear massacre made by the Iranian rule.”
