Lok Sabha
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a three-line whip to its MPs to remain present in the Lok Sabha. This whip has been issued by the party for Tuesday. The ‘One Nation, One Election’ bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha today. The party has directed all its MPs to be compulsorily present in the House. Earlier it was discussed that the government will present the ‘One Nation, One Election’ bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday, but due to some reasons it was postponed.
All constituents of NDA are in favor of the bill
If sources are to be believed, discussions have been held with all the constituent parties of NDA regarding ‘One Nation, One Election’ and all the parties are in favor of this bill. A constitutional amendment bill aimed at holding simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections has been listed for introduction in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. This bill was included in the business list of the Lok Sabha last Friday and a copy of the bill was distributed to all the MPs on the same day, but later the bill was removed from the revised business list of the Lok Sabha.
The bill can be sent to JPC
According to sources, the bill may be sent to the JPC for presentation and detailed discussion and consensus. The government has no objection to sending this bill to a parliamentary committee, if there is a demand for it in the House. It is being told that JPC will be formed tomorrow itself, in which names of members of all the parties including BJP-Congress will also be announced. It is also being said that the opposition parties are opposing it only for political reasons.
