The Central Government has proposed to increase the number of members in the Joint Committee from 31 to 39 to examine the two bills proposing simultaneous elections. This will allow more parties to be represented in the committee. The list of Lok Sabha MPs proposed by the government now includes one member each from Shiv Sena (UBT), Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), besides two from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and one more from Samajwadi Party. Is. With this, Uddhav Thackeray’s complaint has also been resolved. Earlier, Uddhav’s party had expressed objection over his not being included in the JPC.

In the agenda of the House on Friday, there is a proposal by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to send both the bills to a joint committee. The committee will include 27 members of the Lok Sabha and 12 members of the Rajya Sabha.

Proposal to include these new members

The new Lok Sabha members proposed in the committee include BJP’s Baijayant Panda and Sanjay Jaiswal, SP’s Chhote Lal, Shiv Sena’s (UBT) Anil Desai, LJP’s Shambhavi and CPI(M)’s K. Radhakrishnan. The committee will examine two bills including the “One Nation One Election” bill and a Constitution Amendment Bill. Apart from former Union ministers Anurag Thakur and PP Chaudhary, BJP’s Bhartrihari Mahtab and Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi are also among the Lok Sabha members proposed for the committee. Of the Lok Sabha members, 17 are from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, including 12 from the BJP.

Shiv Sena (UBT) had expressed displeasure

Shiv Sena (UBT) had expressed its unhappiness to the office of the Lok Sabha Speaker and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs as none of its members were included in the list of 21 Lok Sabha MPs. Shiv Sena (UBT) is part of the India Alliance of opposition parties and the party has nine Lok Sabha MPs. A Shiv Sena (UBT) MP had said that the proposed joint committee of Parliament on the two “One Nation One Election” bills comprising parties of two, seven and eight members had been included, but his party had not been included. He said that he had expressed his unhappiness over this matter to the Speaker and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister and expressed hope that when a proposal in this regard is presented in the House on Friday, an MP from the party can be included.

Anil Desai’s name in the list

Now the Central Government has also included the MP from Uddhav’s party in the proposal to be presented on the last day of the winter session and Anil Desai’s name has been kept in the proposed list. Shiv Sena had also made the same demand. The agenda of the Lok Sabha on Thursday included the names of 21 MPs joining the committee, the formation of which was to be proposed by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. However, on Thursday, Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day without any business due to clashes and protests between NDA members and opposition leaders in the Parliament complex.

Priyanka and Anurag Thakur are also a part

Former Union ministers Anurag Thakur and PP Choudhary from the BJP, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from the Congress are among the Lok Sabha members proposed for the panel. BJP’s ally RLD, which has two MPs in the House, and one member each from the Janasena party are also among the proposed members of the JPC.
