One Nation One Election approved.
The cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of One Nation One Election in India. On Wednesday, the Modi cabinet approved the proposal to hold simultaneous elections in the country. According to the information, a briefing will be given on the decision taken in the Modi cabinet meeting at 3 pm.
Support of 32 political parties
The committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind had approached 62 parties on the issue of ‘one nation, one election’ and out of the 47 political parties that responded, 32 supported the idea of holding simultaneous elections while 15 parties opposed it. According to the report, a total of 15 parties did not respond.
Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the first phase
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav explained about it in detail in a press conference. He said- Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be held in the first phase and 100 days after that, local body elections will be held. He said that the committee’s suggestions will be discussed across the country. Everyone is urged to give their opinion on this. This system will strengthen democracy and save expenses.
Will implement it in the current term itself- Amit Shah
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said on Tuesday that the BJP-led NDA government will implement ‘one nation, one election’ in its current term itself. Addressing a press conference on the occasion of completion of 100 days of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term, the Home Minister said that we plan to implement the system of ‘one nation, one election’ during the tenure of this government itself. Let us tell you that ‘one nation, one election’ is one of the major promises made by the BJP in its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections.
What will be the benefits of simultaneous elections
Saving crores of rupees spent on elections. Relief from holding elections again and again. The focus will not be on elections but on development. The code of conduct has an impact again and again. Black money will also be curbed.
