New Delhi. After the Lok Sabha, the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 has passed from the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. This will become a law with the President’s signature. As soon as the notification of online gaming law is issued, those online gaming apps will not be downloaded from Google’s Play Store or Apple’s App Store, which have to invest money to play. Under this law, those who play online games will not be punished. Companies who run online games with money have been brought under the purview of 3 years imprisonment and fined up to 1 crore.
For those who are fed online games with money, those who provide transactions will also be imprisoned for 3 years and a fine of 1 crore. Apart from this, whatever online games are fed by paying money, those promoting them will be sentenced to 2 years and a fine of Rs 50 lakh. The central government decided to stop online gaming by taking money, because there were reports that people are losing a lot of money. Also, due to losing the money, many people who played online games committed suicide. According to the government, she had been asking companies who have been online game -feeding companies to stop betting through it for the past several years, but the companies were not listening to the government.
After the law is enacted, the Central Government will form the authority to prevent money online game and will also implement schemes. While presenting the bill controlling online gaming in the Lok Sabha, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said that the intention of the Modi government is to save the society from being ruined and to stop the cases of suicide due to online gaming. He had said that the government does not worry about revenue. The minister had said in the House that online gaming is like drug addiction. He also told that the government will encourage e-sports and social gaming under online gaming. This type of gaming is part of two-thirds. Such games create leadership ability in children and develop their brain.
