According to officials, the ongoing operation in Bihali area of Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday intensified the search for three militants, in which a terrorist was killed.
“The encounter continues. A terrorist has been killed. A search operation is on to search for the other three terrorists.”
Talking to ANI, on the Basantgarh encounter, IGP Jammu said, “The encounter continues. One of the four terrorists has been killed and the remaining three are being searched.”
The White Night Core posted on X, “Operation Bihali update: #In a joint campaign issued by the Indian Army and @jmukmrpolice. In #Basantgarh, a #terrorist has been killed so far. #Operation continues.”
According to officials, the joint campaign, whose code name was Operation Bihali, was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, security forces organized a joint mock drill at the Baltal base camp in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir to prepare for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra starting on 3 July.
The exercise was conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ganderbal. The exercise saw coordinated participation of several agencies including Jammu and Kashmir Police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), 49 Battalion CRPF, IR Health Department and Fire and Fire and Emergency Services.
