Amid the ongoing struggle with Israel, another special flight about 285 Indian citizens trapped in Iran came out safely in New Delhi on Sunday night, causing the total number of people taken under Operation Sindhu to 1,713.
This is the eighth batch of Indians brought indigenously under the ongoing campaign. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the latest group arrived from Iran’s Mashhad, and he was welcomed by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margerita at Delhi Airport.
In a post on X, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “India’s withdrawal efforts under Operation Sindhu continue. Minister of State Shri Pabitra Margerita received 285 Indian citizens who were taken out by a special flight from Mashhad, who landed in New Delhi at 2330 pm on 22 June.”

The Ministry of External Affairs said, “With this, 1,713 Indian citizens have been brought home from Iran so far.”
Meanwhile, Minister of State Margarita expressed satisfaction over the operation going on in a post on X, “285 Indian citizens evacuated from Iran were warmly welcomed at Delhi Airport under Operation Sindhu. Along with this, 1,713 Indian citizens have been brought home safe from Iran.”
Earlier in the day, under Operation Indus, another batch of citizens from Iran reached the national capital with 311 Indian citizens.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 311 Indian citizens reached New Delhi by special flight from Mashhad at 4:30 pm on Sunday.
