New Delhi. The Modi government wants to amend the Waqf Act. The Waqf Amendment Bill has been introduced for this. The Waqf Amendment Bill is supported by several Muslim organizations such as Muslim Rashtriya Manch, All India Sufi Sajjadanshin Council, Muslim Women’s Intellectual Group, Pasmanda Muslim Mahaj and Jamiat Himayat-ul-Islam. Whereas, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and Asaduddin Owaisi are protesting. These Muslim organizations and leaders say that the central government wants to capture the Waqf property of Muslims through the Waqf Amendment Bill. Now Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has warned of agitation on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM Delhi Pradesh President Shoaib Jamai has posted on X and revealed his party’s stance about the Waqf Amendment Bill. The leader of Owaisi’s party has written in the post that if the Waqf Amendment Bill was forcibly imposed on Muslims, then the movement will start from Delhi and this movement will be done across the country. Shoaib Jamai further wrote that AIMIM will use its democratic rights for the movement. The leader of Owaisi’s party has written that attack on the rights given to minorities in the constitution will not be tolerated. He has written that where the movement was over last time, it will start again.
If the Waqf Bill is tried to forcibly impose on Muslims, there will be a nationwide movement and will start it from Delhi.
“The last time the movement ended from where it ended will start from there”.
We will use our democratic rights and tolerate attack on the rights given to minorities in the Constitution…– Dr. Shoaib jamai (@shoaibjamei) April 2, 2025
Muslim organizations opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill and leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi also allege why provision is being made to place non -Muslim members in Waqf boards. Those opposing the Waqf Bill also say that the Modi government is adopting an unconstitutional method. At the same time, on behalf of the Modi government, Home Minister Amit Shah and Kiren Rijiju have strongly retaliated against those opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill. Where Shah said that the Waqf Bill is misleading Muslims. At the same time, Kiren Rijiju has said that the opposition parties are lying to save the votebank and the Muslim organizations and leaders who have opposed have captured the property worth crores of Waqf.
