Packed crowd at the ghats in Varanasi! Ganga Aarti will be closed for common people till February 5

In view of the crowd of devotees returning from Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj, it has been decided to keep the Ganga Aarti on the ghats of Varanasi till February 5 for the common people. This information was given by Aarti Organizing Committee.

The Varanasi Police Commissionerate (Commissionerate) has appealed to the Kashi residents to not get out of the house unnecessarily and cooperate with the devotees.

Sushant Mishra, president of Ganga Seva Nidhi, said on Friday that the Ganga Aarti to be held at Dashashwamedh Ghat will be closed for the public till February 5, 2025 due to unavoidable reasons.

The Ganga Aarti institution has appealed to the visitors/devotees.

Similarly, the committees performing Ganga Aarti at other ghats including Sheetla Ghat, Assi Ghat have also appealed to the public, visitors and devotees not to attend the Aarti till February 5. Meanwhile, Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal also unnecessarily not out of the house from the Kashi residents and

Appealed to cooperate with the devotees.

A large number of devotees who returned after bathing in Prayagraj Mahakumbh are still stranded at Varanasi Cantt and Banaras stations. Many devotees said that due to excessive crowd, they could not catch their train and now they were waiting for the crowd to decrease. At the same time, due to the cancellation of some trains, passengers are still stuck at the station and are waiting for any other means.

Bobby Maya Limbu, a resident of Sonicpur in Assam, said that she had come to Prayagraj with her group. They took a bath on the Prayagraj Sangam coast on 26 January. From there he went to worship Ayodhya. From there, he reached Varanasi on 30 January. He had a train yesterday but due to the crowd, these people could not catch the train. Now whatever train will come, they will go.

Maya Limbu said that there was a lot of problem due to the crowd, but the soul has realized a lot of happiness by worshiping.

Devotees from Gaya district Dinanath told that he has been stranded in Banaras for two days with his wife children. On Thursday, he tried to catch the train, but due to the huge crowd, he had to get down from the train due to his suffocation. Since then, he has been living in the night shelter outside the platform.

Rajat Singh, who is watching the management of Ran Basera, said that this shelter has been made for the rest of the passengers coming to Kumbh. Arrangements have been made for the passengers to sleep here. A health team is present here for treatment due to health problems for a passenger. But, there is no system of food and drink here. Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) of Cantt area Vidush Saxena said that the crowd of devotees has increased in Kashi after the festival of Mahakumbh and Mauni Amavasya.

He said that there is a continuous investigation campaign to protect the devotees. He informed that security forces are constantly patrolling the station. Rain shelters have been made for the stay of passengers. A stand has been made for vehicles coming from outside.

Saxena said that the devotees coming from outside are urged to stop for a few days to worship Varanasi so that the crowd coming here can be controlled.
