He has also been funding terrorist activities in India. There are more than 50 cases against Shariq Satha, a native of Sambhal, in different police stations. Sambhal police feel that Shariq may have a hand in the violence that took place on November 24. Police have also identified some more terrorists. Of these, Saeed Akhtar and Usman Hussain are residents of the same Deepa Sarai in Sambhal, where the violence took place. According to Sambhal Police, Saeed Akhtar is missing since 1998. He is suspected to have joined Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. At the same time, the police has information about Usman that he went to Pakistan in 1999 and took training by joining Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. That too in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
According to Sambhal Police, Sharjeel Akhtar, a resident of Nakhasa of the city, is absconding since 2012. He is associated with Al-Qaeda. Miscreants had also opened fire in Nakhasa. According to the news channel, among the documents it received, Mohammad Asif and Zafar Mahmood were associated with Al-Qaeda and later served a sentence of 7 years. Both were released in 2023 and live in Nakhasa. Sambhal police is investigating whether these two have any role in the violence or not.
