India, in a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) chaired by Pakistan, termed his neighbor in “fanaticism”, “Duba”, a continuous debt -taking “country, said that countries promoting terrorism across the border should be forced to repay” serious prices “.
India’s permanent representative Ambassador to the United Nations, Parvatneni Harish said, “We are discussing the subject of promoting international peace and security, so it is important to understand that some basic principles should be universally respected, one of which is one- not tolerate terrorism at all.”
Harish on Tuesday made a statement on behalf of his nation in a high-level open discussion organized on the subject of ‘promoting international peace and security through a peaceful solution to multilateralism and disputes in the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan is the chairman of the Security Council with a membership of 15 countries for July.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Isaac Dar presided over the open discussion, which was also addressed by UN Secretary -General Antonio Gutaras.
Dar, while addressing the council on behalf of Pakistan, raised the issue of Indus Water Treaty along with Jammu and Kashmir.
After the Pahalgam terror attack, India decided that the 1960 Indus Water Treaty would remain suspended until Pakistan leaves the border terrorism reliable and irreversible. The Turki also mentioned Jammu and Kashmir in his statement in this open discussion.
Harish reacted strongly to Dar’s comment, saying, “On one side there is India which is a mature democracy, an emerging economy and a pluralist and inclusive society.” On the other hand there is Pakistan, which is immersed in bigotry and terrorism and is constantly taking loans from the IMF (International Monetary Fund). ”
In May this year, the IMF approved providing around one billion dollars to Pakistan under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), making the total amount provided under this arrangement to about 2.1 billion US $ 2.1 billion.
In his statement at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Chamber, Harish referred to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which is responsible for the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, ‘The Resistance Front’.
Harish emphasized that those countries should pay “serious prices” who violate international relations and good neighbors by promoting “border terrorism.”
The Indian ambassador said, “It is not appropriate for any member of the council to preach while indulging in such conduct which is unacceptable for the international community.”
He said that after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, India started Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist structures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which is in line with the United Nations Security Council’s statement of 25 April.
In the statement of the United Nations Security Council, its member countries stressed the need to justify criminals, its organizers, financers and sponsors of this condemnable act of terrorism and bring them to the dock of justice.
Harish said that India’s response was focused and balanced and was not going to increase stress. He said, “After achieving its primary objectives, military activities were directly stopped at Pakistan’s request.”
Earlier, the US top diplomat at the United Nations claimed on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump’s administration helped reduce tension between India and Pakistan.
Acting US representative Ambassador Dorothy Shia said, “America continues to work to find a peaceful solution as far as possible with the parties involved in disputes around the world.”
Pakistan is a temporary member of the Council of 15 countries for the tenure of 2025 and 2026.
