The Government of India has decided to suspend all visa services for Pakistani citizens with immediate effect following the proposal of the Cabinet Committee of Security Affairs (CCS). Under this decision, all the existing valid Indian visas issued to Pakistani citizens from April 27 will be canceled. The step has been taken in view of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people lost their lives. The government is taking strict diplomatic and safety steps in response to the incident. However, this rule of Visa concerned will not apply to the Pakistani citizens who are Pakistani Hindus and who have been given long -term visas, through which they are living in India.

Pakistani citizens will leave India by 27 April

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Thursday, “In order to suspend Visa services with immediate effect to Pakistani citizens with immediate effect, the Government of India said in a statement.

Indian citizens were advised to avoid visit to Pakistan

The Ministry of External Affairs also urged Indian citizens to avoid visiting Pakistan in view of the current situation. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens will be valid only by 29 April 2025. Currently all Pakistani citizens present in India should leave India before the revised visa period ends. Indian citizens are strongly advised to avoid traveling to Pakistan. Currently Indian citizens present in Pakistan are also advised to return to India as soon as possible.”

Pahalgam terrorist attack

26 people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, mostly tourists and more than a dozen people were injured. It has been one of the largest terrorist attacks after Article 370 was canceled in 2019. However, the government has not yet officially confirmed the number of casualties in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. After the terrorist attack, security forces have started a search operation to catch responsible terrorists. Security has been increased in Jammu and Kashmir since the attack. In the photographs being received from Jammu and Kashmir, the roads in the movement of tourist areas are usually deserted. After the attack, many organizations have also called for Jammu bandh.
