Pappu Yadav’s ‘Bihar Bandh’ against alleged irregularities in BPSC exam, ruckus in many districts

New Delhi. The issue of alleged paper leak in the 70th CCE examination of Bihar Public Service Commission has gained momentum. Pappu Yadav, Independent MP from Purnia, led the statewide ‘Bihar Bandh’ today, 12 January 2025, in support of the students protesting over this issue. The students demand that this examination should be cancelled. For the past several days, protesters were protesting in Gardnibagh of Patna.

Pappu Yadav took to the streets, demonstrations across the state

Pappu Yadav today took out a huge procession from Income Tax Square to Dak Bungalow Square in Patna. He was seen standing on an open vehicle demanding justice for the students. Taking aim at the state government, he said, “Those who are anti-students, their Ram-Ram is true. The people of Bihar are on the streets.” Protestors blocked main roads, burnt tires and closed markets. Traffic came to a standstill at Ashok Rajpath, NIT Mod and Dak Bungalow intersection in Patna.

Protests in other districts also

Widespread protests also took place in other districts including Begusarai, Gaya, Supaul and Barh. Protestors blocked NH-31 in Begusarai and accused the government of inaction. Whereas in Gaya, protesters blocked the road at Sikariya turn, due to which traffic was affected in the entire city. Even during the flood, there was protest by burning tires on NH-31.

From Rail Roko movement to ‘Bihar Bandh’

This is not the first time that Pappu Yadav has taken a big step in support of students. On January 1, he had called for ‘Bihar Bandh’ and recently also conducted a rail roko movement at a station.
