New Delhi. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking to register an FIR against him in connection with the recovery of large number of cash at the house of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Verma. The petition has been filed by Supreme Court lawyer Mathews Nedumpara. On the other hand, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankad held a meeting with the House Leader and Union Minister JP Nadda and Union Minister JP Nadda and Opposition Leader and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in the ongoing judicial investigation case on Judge Yashwant Verma.

Dhankhar mentioned the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act on the issue of Justice Verma raised in the Rajya Sabha on March 21 by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh. Dhankad had said that if that Act had been done, today we would have solved the issue of judicial accountability. After this, Dhankad had said that he will hold a meeting with JP Nadda and Mallikarjun Kharge on this issue. Explain that the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act was passed by the Parliament but the Supreme Court had stayed it. Its goal was to make the appointment process of judges more transparent and accountable.

On the other hand, Advocate Mathews Nedumpara, who filed a petition against Justice Verma in the Supreme Court, says that if the cash was recovered at the house of an officer or leader, then an FIR would be immediately registered against him by registering an FIR but an FIR was not registered against the High Court judge, why? Along with this, he also termed the three -member committee formed by the collegium to investigate the case as illegal. Significantly, after getting cash from Justice Verma’s house, he was transferred to Allahabad High Court from Delhi High Court, which was protested by the Allahabad High Court Bar Association. After which the Supreme Court Collegium has taken action on Justice Verma and banned his judicial work.
