Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: Kailash Mansarovar’s visit is resumed after five years. Indian pilgrims will be able to visit Kailash Mansarovar once again from June this year. Following the agreement between China and India, the Ministry of External Affairs announced the names of 750 lucky passengers through lottery system on Wednesday. Selected passengers were informed via SMS and email. Kailash Mansarovar’s visit was postponed since 2019 due to the tension in Kovid-19 epidemic and India-China relations.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, a total of 15 batch will leave for Mansarovar Yatra between June and August, which will include 50-50 passengers in each batch. Of these, five passengers of 50-50 will go to Mansarovar via Lipulekh, while 10 batch of 50-50 passengers will leave from Nathu La Root at different times. It has also been told that both routes have been made largely worth going by car, so passengers will have to travel very rarely.
Lipulekh Marg: 5 batch of 50-50 passengers will go to Mansarovar via Lipulekh. Nathu La Marg: 10 batch of 50-50 passengers will leave at different times by Nathu La Marg.

How to select passengers selected?
In a program, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh took out the names of selected passengers through lottery system. The Ministry of External Affairs has claimed that this lottery system is completely computer -based and transparent. This year a total of 5561 passengers had registered for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, including 4024 males and 1537 women. Of these, 750 passengers have been selected.
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was closed in 2019
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, 2019 was discontinued due to the stress in India-China relations after the Chinese army infiltration along the Kovid epidemic in 2019 and the Line of Actual Control (LAC) adjacent to East Ladakh.
On starting the visit, it was agreed to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Chinfing in October 2024. The two leaders then agreed to end the tension that arose from April 2020. Subsequently, a final decision was taken to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
China supported Pakistan during Operation Sindoor
This decision to resume Mansarovar Yatra has come at a time when China has talked about supporting Pakistan during “Operation Sindoor”. Pakistan also used weapons and missiles purchased from China. Recently, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a meeting with Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, in which China has promised Pakistan’s army and state-of-the-art weapons and other military equipment.
