How much compensation will the Railways give?
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also expressed grief over the death of 12 passengers after being hit by a train in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra and expressed condolences to their families. According to information received from the Railway Minister’s office, a compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh each has been announced for the families of those killed in the Jalgaon train accident, Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured and Rs 5,000 for those with minor injuries.
Fadnavis also announced compensation
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also expressed grief over the Jalgaon train accident and announced compensation to the families of the deceased. Fadnavis has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the passengers killed in the train accident. Fadnavis, sending a video message from Davos, Switzerland, said that the state government will bear the entire expense of the treatment of the injured passengers.
How did the accident happen?
According to the information received so far, sparks had come out from the wheels of Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express after braking ahead of the railway station in Jalgaon district. Due to this there was chaos among the passengers. Meanwhile, some passengers pulled the chain. Some passengers from the train jumped onto the tracks.
