New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to gift five new modern trains to India in January 2025. These trains will be launched specifically to connect Delhi and Kashmir. Keeping in mind the harsh winter weather of Kashmir, these trains have been made technologically advanced. Modern facilities like onboard heating system have been provided for the passengers in these trains, which will provide a comfortable traveling experience in winter.
Trains will be equipped with onboard heating system
In view of the snowy and harsh weather of Kashmir Valley, onboard heating system has been installed in these trains. This system will keep the coach warm and comfortable in sub-zero temperatures. This step of Indian Railways is not only for the convenience of passengers, but it will also encourage tourism and economic activities in Kashmir.

Trains will pass through snow-covered areas, and the coach wheels and engine windshields are designed to prevent ice accumulation. For the convenience and safety of passengers, every coach will be sanitized from both sides before leaving the platform.
Special security checks and additional facilities
Passengers going to Srinagar will have to go through special security check on the lines of the airport. Apart from this, more Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel will be deployed in these trains compared to normal route trains.
There will be 22 coaches in each train
According to media reports, each rake of these trains will have 22 coaches. Indian Railways has completely prepared these trains. A senior official informed that the construction work of all five rakes has been completed and the trains are ready for operation. These can be launched in January 2025.
Promote tourism and economic development
This initiative of Indian Railways will give a new direction to tourism in Kashmir Valley. These trains will not only ensure a better travel experience for the passengers, but will also make transportation between Delhi and Kashmir more convenient.
