Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appreciated the historical diplomacy and marine power of the Chola dynasty and linked it with the strategic strength and global impact of modern India. He said that the visionary diplomacy, marine domination and cultural exchange of the Chola rulers had given India a strong identity on the global stage in ancient times. PM Modi described this historical heritage as inspiring for the present India’s foreign policy and defense strategy.
The Prime Minister, referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, termed it as a symbol of India’s strong action against terrorism. He said, “Operation Sindoor is a tough message for terrorists that India will not compromise with its security and sovereignty.” Modi insisted that India’s policy is based on peace, cooperation and global partnership, but the country is fully prepared to respond to any threat.
Recalling the global trade and cultural influence of the Chola dynasty, the PM said that his marine power and diplomatic strategies not only enriched India financially, but also culturally increased its influence in the world. He emphasized that today’s India is also strengthening its position on the global stage with the same spirit. Whether it is international cooperation or action against terrorism, India is demonstrating its strength on every front.
Modi also said that India’s military and diplomatic strength is dedicated to global peace and stability. He called upon the countrymen to take inspiration from the legacy of the Chola dynasty and strengthen India as a global power. On this occasion, he praised the armed forces and said that his strength and dedication is the backbone of the country’s security.
