This statement of PM Modi directly indicates that his government at the Center can bring bills related to One Nation One Election and One Nation One Civil Code in the winter session of Parliament. After taking charge of the country as PM for the second time, PM Modi had talked about One Nation One Election. At the same time, during the 2022 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, BJP had promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) if the government is formed again. After the re-formation of the BJP government in Uttarakhand, the Uniform Civil Code bill has been passed by the Legislative Assembly there and preparations are on to implement it in November 2024. Let us tell you that implementing UCC has always been in BJP’s agenda.

There are Muslim organizations and many political parties against the Uniform Civil Code. All of them oppose any kind of interference in personal law. Whereas, the Directive Principles of State Policy of the Constitution of India also states that the government will work to implement the Uniform Civil Code. Based on this, BJP has been continuously talking about implementing UCC in its election manifesto. Now PM Modi has made it clear by making an important statement on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel that even though BJP does not have majority in the Lok Sabha, his government is not lagging behind implementing One Nation One Election and One Nation One Civil Code. Is going to go away.
