Actor Vicky Kaushal has said that he is very honored with his praise by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his ‘action drama’ film ‘Chhava’ based on history.
Modi said at the inauguration ceremony of the 98th All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan (ABMSS) on Friday that Maharashtra including Mumbai has brought Marathi films and Hindi cinema to new heights.
During this time, Modi said about the film, “And these days there is a boom of ‘Chhava’.”
The film has grossed more than Rs 300 crore globally since its release in theaters last week.
‘Chhava’ stars Kaushal Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj who was the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire.
Kaushal wrote on the social media platform ‘Instagram’ with Modi’s video, “Can’t tell this honor in words. I am grateful to Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Actress Rashmika Mandana, who plays Jesubai in the film, also wrote on ‘Instagram’, “Thank you very much Narendra Modi ji, this is really a great honor.”
‘Chhava’ has been produced by filmmaker Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Madock Films’ and the banner has also shared a clip of Modi on its official ‘Instagram Handle’.

‘Chhava’ has been declared tax-free in Goa and Madhya Pradesh. In this, Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar Singh and Ashutosh Rana have also played important roles.
