PM Modi will inaugurate the new Pamban Rail Bridge.
Chennai: PM Modi will inaugurate India’s first vertical lift sea bridge in Rameswaram on April 6. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also dedicate several other projects to the nation. On the eve of the official program, Indian Railways also released a video of the new Pamban bridge. The Railway Ministry said, “The Pambon Bridge is a great mix of heritage and new technology, which offers great views. India’s first vertical lift railway sea bridge is going to be inaugurated on this Ram Navami.” The bridge is built at a cost of more than Rs 550 crore.
Specialty of Pambon Bridge
Please tell that the Pamban bridge has a deep cultural significance. According to the Ramayana, “The construction of Ram Setu started from Dhanushkodi near Rameswaram.” Explain that this bridge has been constructed 2.08 km long at a cost of more than Rs 550 crore. The new Pamban Bridge is India’s first vertical lift railway bridge. The 72.5 m long bridge can be raised up to 17 meters, leading to large ships pass through it. The new bridge is 3 meters higher than the existing bridge, which has improved in marine connectivity. The bridge is constructed with stainless steel strength, high -class protective paint and fully welded joints. Special polycyloxen coating protects it from rust, ensuring its long life in the difficult sea environment.
New train service also green signal
PM Modi will inaugurate the new Pamban railway bridge on April 6. Apart from this, he will flag Rameswaram-Tambaram (Chennai) new train service. During this time, a coast guard will also be flagged off. A release said that PM Modi will visit the famous Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameswaram at around quarter to one in the afternoon. After this, at around 1.30 pm, we will lay the foundation stone of various rail and road projects costing more than Rs 8,300 crore in Tamil Nadu and will dedicate them to the nation.
Gift of many roadways
These projects include the foundation stone of the work of making the 28 km long Walzpet-Ranipet section of NH-40 to four-lane and the 29 km long Vilupuram-Puducherry section of NH-332, the work of making four-lane, 57 km long Pundiancupam-Sutnathpuram section of NH-32 and 48 km long Cholapuram-Tanjavurpuram Khand of NH-32. This bridge has a very deep cultural significance. According to the Ramayana, the construction of Ram Setu started from Dhanushkodi near Rameswaram. The new Pambon bridge was constructed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), which is a public sector undertaking working under the Ministry of Railways.

PM Modi has also given this information on social media platform X. In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Tomorrow, on April 6, on the auspicious occasion of Ramnavami, I am eager to come among my brothers and sisters from Tamil Nadu. The new Pamban Rail Bridge will be inaugurated. I will pray at Sri Aulmigu Ramanathswamy Temple. The development works worth more than Rs 8300 crore will also be inaugurated or founded.”
