The same year, when the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections was being held, Modi had seen Kedarnath and Badrinath and also focused on a cave in Kedarnath. In the election results that came after this, the BJP had registered a historic victory with 302 seats.

The contest is difficult for the BJP in Delhi, where the party has been out of power for the last 27 years and where Hindutva has not yet been a decisive issue.
