PM Modi
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a major attack on Congress after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement regarding election promises. He raised questions on the election promises of Congress by making several posts one after the other on social media. He wrote that the Congress party is now realizing that it is easy to make false promises, but it is difficult or impossible to implement them. In every campaign they make such promises to the people, which even they know they will never be able to implement. Now they have been badly exposed in front of the public!
deprived of guaranteed benefits
PM Modi further wrote, ‘Today, in the states where Congress is in power – Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana – the direction of development and the economic situation is worsening day by day. Their so-called guarantees remain incomplete, which is a grave betrayal of the people of these states. The victims of such politics are the poor, youth, farmers and women, who are not only being deprived of the benefits of promises, but their ongoing schemes are also being weakened.
busy with internal politics and looting
Questioning Congress’s promises and its functioning, PM Modi wrote, ‘Instead of focusing on development in Karnataka, Congress is busy in internal politics and looting. Not only this, they are also going to rollback the ongoing schemes. Government employees in Himachal Pradesh are not getting salaries on time. Farmers in Telangana are waiting for loan waiver. Earlier in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan he had promised to give some allowances which were never implemented for five years. There are many such examples of Congress’s functioning.
Be cautious of false promises of Congress
The PM wrote, ‘The people of the country have to be cautious of the culture of false promises being spread by the Congress! We recently saw that the people of Haryana rejected his lies and gave priority to a stable, progressive and functioning government. There is a growing understanding across India that voting for Congress means voting for misgovernance, poor economy and unprecedented loot. The people of India want development and progress, not the same old empty promises.
Know what Kharge had said
In fact, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge slammed his government in Karnataka. He expressed displeasure over the review of the Free Bus Scheme (Shakti) scheme. Kharge said that promise only as much as you can fulfill. The guarantee should be announced on budget basis. Earlier, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s statement had come that the government will review the Shakti Guarantee Scheme. Under this scheme, women in the state get the facility of free bus travel.
