New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 184 type-VII multi-storey flats made for MPs on Baba Khadak Singh Marg in Delhi today. During this, Modi also planted a sindoor plant in the campus. The PM said that the residential towers created for MPs have been named after the four great rivers Krishna, Godavari, Kosi, Hooghly of India. Millions of people get life from the water of these rivers. Modi further said but some people will also have trouble in this. Some people will see the election of Bihar in the name of Kosi. I would tell people of such small minds that the tradition of names of rivers binds us in the unity of the country.
Narendra Modi said that there is also an important economic aspect of these new houses. During the inauguration of Duty Bhavan, I had reported that many ministries are paying around Rs 1,500 crore annually as the rent of the leased buildings. This is a direct waste of the country’s money. Similarly, government expenses also increased due to lack of adequate housing for MPs. After 2014, we took this task as a campaign. Since 2014, about 350 MP houses have been constructed, including these flats.

Modi said, I hope that we all will work as a team and our efforts will become a role model for the nation. I request the Ministry and your Housing Committee to consider organizing a cleanliness competition two or three times a year between various MP housing complexes. Then it can be announced which block was found to be the cleanest. A year later, we will also be able to publicly decide which block is best and which is the worst. PM said, the 21st century India is eager for development, the more sensitive. Today, the country is constructing duty and duty building, discharging its duties to deliver water to millions of citizens.
