Growing on the post, he took over various responsibilities in the organization and worked diligently as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Modi wrote, Whatever role Vijay Bhai was assigned, he distinguished himself, whether it is in Rajkot Municipal Corporation, as a Rajya Sabha MP, as a Gujarat BJP president or as a cabinet minister in the state government. Vijaybhai and I did a lot of work even while being the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He took many such steps which led to a boost in the growth rate of Gujarat, especially the ‘ease of life’.
