New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a compilation of the works of the great Tamil poet and freedom fighter Subramaniam Bharati on his birth anniversary. During this, in his address, PM Modi said that today is also the holy occasion of Geeta Jayanti. Subramaniam Bharti ji had deep faith in Geeta and his understanding of the knowledge of Geeta was equally deep. He translated Geeta into Tamil, gave it a simple and easy explanation and today is the coincidence of Geeta Jayanti, Subramaniam Bharati’s birth anniversary and the publication of his works, that is, in a way, Triveni Sangam.

PM Narendra Modi said, I have been told that the 23 volumes of ‘Kaal Varisenu Bharatiyar’ not only include the works of Bharatiyar ji, but also contain information about the background and philosophical interpretations of his literature. Commentary and description have been given space in every section. This will be of great help in knowing and understanding Bharti ji’s thoughts deeply. This compilation will also prove to be very helpful for research scholars.

The Prime Minister said, today the country is celebrating the birth anniversary of great poet Subramaniam Bharati. I pay my respects to Subramaniam Bharati and pay my tribute to him. Today is a big occasion for India’s culture and literature, for the memories of India’s freedom struggle and for the pride of Tamil Nadu.

PM Narendra Modi says, we used to hear the phrase ‘one life, one mission’ but I see in Shrini ji what it means. His dedication and penance are remarkable. Srini ji’s penance today reminded me of Mahamahopadhyay Pandurang Vaman Kane. He devoted 35 years of his life to writing history and theology. I am confident that this work of Srini Viswanathan ji will become a benchmark in the academic world.
