New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi has expressed condolences by talking on the phone to Senior General Min Aung Having of Earthquake affected Myanmar. He has assured to provide all kinds of help in this difficult time. He also told the General of Myanmar that relief material is being sent from India. Nearly 1000 people are reported dead due to the disastrous earthquake in Myanmar, while more people are injured. Buildings, a large number of people missing due to the demolition of the house, which are probably buried in the debris. Relief and rescue operations continue on the war footing.

Prime Minister Modi told General Having of Myanmar that as a close friend and neighbor, India stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar in this difficult time. Under Operation Brahma, disaster relief materials, humanitarian aid, search and rescue teams are being rapidly sent to the affected areas. Let us tell you that India has sent relief materials to the city of Yangon in Myanmar by military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force. The first batch of relief material has reached and two more consignments will be sent soon. Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Abhay Thakur handed over relief material to Yangon Chief Minister U Soi Thein.

This relief material sent by India has ready to eat food, sleeping bags, blankets, mattresses, tents, medicines, some medical related items, solar lamps, generator sets, water purifiers. India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar gave information about the commencement of Operation Brahma through social media posts. He had told that the first consignment of assistance from India has reached the Yangon Airport in Myanmar. Let us tell you that there has been a huge devastation due to the strong earthquake in Myanmar and Bangkok yesterday.
