Seven members of four banned organizations were arrested in different campaigns in Manipur. The police gave this information on Saturday.
A senior police officer said two members of the banned Congress Communist Party (PWG) were arrested on Friday from Lamfel area of Imphal West district, while another member of the same organization was arrested near the gate of Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.
He said that the accused have been identified as Moirangathem Jeevan Singh (27), Lasharam Tikain Singh (40) and Thowdam Premkumar Singh (38).
The police officer said Rs 50,000 has also been recovered from the accused arrested from Lamfel.
He said that two members of the banned Kanglei Yavol Kanba Lup (KYKL) organization were caught on Thursday near the Lokchao River on the Indo-Myanma border in Tenganupal district.
The official said the arrested militants have been identified as Kesham Nacha alias Ningasingba (38) and Ningthozam Sanjay (18). He said that these people have been handed over to the local police for further legal action.
He said that 24 -year -old member of the banned KCP (Taibanganba) faction, Mayanglambam Borish Singh was also arrested on Friday.
The official said the security forces arrested a member of another banned organization, which was identified as Ningthozam Dhananjay.
