New Delhi. There was a huge uproar during the mosque survey in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Three people died in the violence, identified as Noman, Bilal and Naeem. Officials said that the situation deteriorated rapidly during the incident and incidents of stone pelting and firing were reported. Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said that the arrangement committee was called on Saturday for the mosque survey. The survey started around 7:30 am on Sunday morning and was completed by 10 am. The situation during the survey was completely normal, and the police force was also deployed in sufficient quantity. Anjaneya Kumar told that as soon as it was announced from the mosque that the survey was over, suddenly stone pelting started. Within no time a crowd gathered and violence broke out. Maximum stone pelting took place in Nakhasa police station area.

No namazi was involved in the violence
Anjaneya Kumar also clarified that no worshiper present in the mosque had any involvement in the violence. The police took full vigilance to control the situation. 20 policemen including 4 police officers were injured during the incident. A deputy collector also suffered injuries. However, Moradabad Commissioner clarified that there was no firing by the police.
Investigation into the cause of death continues
Preliminary investigation revealed that Bilal did not die due to bullet injury. The reasons for the death of the other deceased will become clear only after the post-mortem. Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar said that stone pelters tried to set police vehicles on fire and attack policemen. Drones and CCTV footage are being used to identify the accused. Action will be taken against all the culprits under NSA (National Security Act).

Officials said that at present the situation is under control. A magisterial inquiry will be conducted into the incident so that action can be taken against those responsible.
