The Kasganj police arrested the main accused in the gang rape case after the encounter. A senior police officer gave this information on Saturday.
The officer said that during the encounter, the accused was injured due to police bullet, which has been identified as Yogesh alias Block Chief.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Bharti, a suspect on a motorcycle on Tatarpur road was shown to stop, but instead of stopping, he drove his vehicle in the opposite direction and shot at the police team instead of stopping.
He said that in the retaliation of the police, a bullet hit the leg of the accused, injuring him.
The encounter was carried out by a joint team of Kotwali Police Station Police, Special Campaign Group (SOG) and ‘Surveillance Cell’ in Kasganj.
The police have recovered a pistol, two cartridges and two kiosks, a motorcycle without number plate and earrings looted from the victim. The injured accused has been admitted to the hospital.
So far, 11 accused have been arrested in this case.
The minor victim went to make ration cards with her 17 -year -old fiancé on 10 April.
After returning from the office of the District Supply Officer (DSO), he sat near a canal when about 10 people came and allegedly took them to the bushes.
According to the complaint, three people allegedly raped the victim, while others snatched her gold earrings and Rs 5,000. He also took out five thousand rupees from his fiancée phone through UPI.
