The Regional Pollution Control Board has issued a notice against 15 hotels around Castard Dham, the famous religious place in Nainital district, seeking a response. It is being told that in addition to solid waste withdrawal by these hotel operators, licenses of Pollution Control Board were not available. After which the Pollution Control Board has issued a notice and sought a reply. Strict action will be taken if the replies and the arrangements not correct the arrangements.
Anurag Negi, the manager of the Regional Pollution Control Board, said that in the past, the complaint of some industrial institutions and routine investigation was done by the department. Under which it was found that there are many small industrial units from the mountain to the ground, by which pollution is spreading and the pollution control board standards are not being followed. These units have been issued notice asking that the rules have been issued. Why is the violation being done? Prima facie it was found that pollution is being spread by these industrial units. They do not have enough arrangements to stop this. He said that replies have been sought from all units within 1 month. In case of no answer, fine and court action will be taken. Also, institutions will also be closed if needed. Said that pollution will not be tolerated.
