New Delhi. Pollution levels have reduced due to light rain in Delhi-NCR on Saturday and Sunday. Delhi’s average air quality index has dropped from 300 to 284, which falls in the ‘poor’ category. Due to this, the restrictions of Grape-3 have been removed. Now removing the ban on construction work, BS-4 vehicles have also been allowed to enter Delhi.

Rainfall data and temperature

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), 1.6 mm rainfall was recorded in Safdarjung, 2.4 mm in Palam, 2 mm in Delhi University, 1.5 mm in Pusa and 4 mm in Najafgarh on Saturday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.7 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal. IMD has predicted rain in many areas of Delhi-NCR, such as Karawal Nagar, Dilshad Garden, Shahdara, Vivek Vihar, Najafgarh and Dwarka in the next few hours.

Due to improvement in Air Quality Index in Delhi NCR, Commission for Air Quality Management-CAQM lifted the third phase of restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan-GRAP.
