Till now complaints of common people were coming forward due to this pollution but now Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has also said a big thing. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud told reporters in an informal conversation on Thursday that due to the increasing level of pollution in Delhi, he has stopped going for morning walks. The CJI has taken this decision after consulting his doctor.
Why did CJI take this decision?
Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has informed that he usually leaves for morning walk at 4-4.15 am. But his doctor advised that to avoid the disease, it would be better for him not to take a morning walk. Stay inside the house only. Because to avoid respiratory diseases, it is better to stay indoors. Therefore, CJI DY Chandrachud has stopped going for morning walk from today. Referring to the increase in air pollution levels, the CJI said, “I have stopped going for morning walks from today (October 24).
What is the AQI of Delhi?
On Thursday (October 24), Delhi’s average AQI reached 340. Under normal circumstances it remains around 50. Air with AQI more than 50 is harmful for health. Air with AQI of 300 is very dangerous. This can cause serious diseases to people.
Respiratory patients increased by 30 to 40 percent
A 30 to 40 percent increase in respiratory cases has been recorded in Delhi hospitals. Respiratory disease experts said that children and the elderly are most sensitive to the ill effects of pollution. He advised people not to go out of the house and avoid coming in contact with dust. Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has been in the ‘poor’ category for more than a week.
