New Delhi. Before the assembly elections in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to take a relief step soon for the people of the state. The government is preparing to provide electricity free up to 100 units in the state in the state. The Department of Energy has prepared a proposal in this regard and sent it to the Finance Ministry. It is being told that the Finance Ministry has also approved the proposal to provide free electricity up to 100 units. Now this proposal will be presented before the cabinet in the meeting. After the approval of the cabinet, the public will start benefiting from it.
The number of electricity consumers in Bihar is around 2.08 crores, out of which 60 lakh houses have smart prepaid meters. Smart prepaid meter holders are currently getting discounts from the rate of 25 paise per unit in the bill, which will continue even after the 100 units of free electricity scheme is commissioned. In this way this decision will be more beneficial for smart prepaid meter holders. Rural consumers have yet to fix a rate of Rs 7.42 per unit for the first 50 units, although it becomes Rs 4.52 after subsidy.
A big decision was taken for women of Bihar recently in Nitish Kumar cabinet meeting. The government has decided to give 35 percent reservation to the natives of the state in government jobs. Earlier in Bihar, women of any state used to get this facility in government jobs, but now only native women of Bihar will get the benefit. Earlier, the government had announced to increase the pension amount of old, widow and disabled. Earlier every month, the pension amount was 400, now it will get 1100 rupees.
