In a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Draupadi Murmu honored the bravery and supreme sacrifice of Uttarakhand’s bravery and the supreme sacrifice by giving him posthumous Shaurya Chakra. According to the Raksha officials, Captain Deepak Singh was martyred during the ongoing operation in Asar, Doda in August 2024. He was from 48 Rashtriya Rifles. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushp Singh Dhami paid homage to Captain Deepak Singh and expressed deep condolences to his family. CM Dhami emphasized the valor of Captain Singh and the spirit of the nation and the significant impact of his final sacrifice on the people of Uttarakhand.
Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote on X, “Despite being injured during an encounter with terrorists in August 2024, Captain Deepak Singh showed courage and achieved martyrdom by protecting the country till his last breath. Uttarakhand’s military land is proud of this brave son.”
According to an official statement by the Ministry of Defense, President Draupadi Murmu on Thursday provided 33 Shaurya Chakras, including four Kirti Chakras and seven positives, including four posthumous and seven posters, including four posthumous and seven posters, including four posthumous and seven posters during the first phase of the Defense Buries, Central Armed Police Forces and State/Union Territories during the first phase of the Defense Defense Adornment ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
