Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed grief over the death of people in a road accident near Jaipur, Rajasthan and announced ex-gratia for the families of the victims. President Draupadi Murmu on Friday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the Jaipur gas tanker accident and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. Murmu also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
A fire that broke out after a truck hit an LPG tanker near Jaipur early Friday morning engulfed more than 30 vehicles and seven people were burnt alive and 35 others sustained burn injuries.
Murmu said in a post on social media platform ‘X’, ‘The news of death of many people in a road accident in Jaipur is extremely painful. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls. My deepest condolences to his family! I pray that the injured people get well soon.
In a post made by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.” He said, ”The local administration is helping the victims.”
The PMO said Modi also approved ex-gratia amount for the victims from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
PMO said, “The families of those who lost their lives in this accident will be given Rs 2 lakh each as ex-gratia from PMNRF. The injured will be given Rs 50,000 each.
According to officials, this accident happened at around 5.30 in the morning. According to initial information, an LPG tanker was hit by a truck near Bhankrota on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway, causing a fire. He told that within no time the fire took a huge form and many trucks and cars including a bus passing by got caught in it.
