Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Mauritius on a two -day state visit on Tuesday. During this time he will attend the National Day celebrations of the island country as the chief guest and hold a meeting with the country’s top leadership.
Modi’s visit is taking place on the invitation of Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgulam. During the journey, the two countries will sign several agreements for capacity building, trade and cooperation in areas of dealing with financial crimes.
Before leaving for Mauritius, Modi said on Monday that his journey would add a “new and bright” chapter to the relationship between the two countries.
Modi will meet the President of Mauritius, hold a meeting with the Prime Minister and also hold a meeting with senior dignitaries of the island nation and leaders of political parties.
He will also hold talks with members of the Indian community and inaugurate the Civil Services College and the Regional Health Center, which has been constructed with the grant of India.
