Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Varanasi on Saturday and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth about Rs 2200 crore in Uttar Pradesh.
These projects are connected to many areas including infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, urban development and cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister also released the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, under which Rs 20,500 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of more than 9.70 crore eligible farmers across the country.
Additionally, he distributed wheelchairs, three -wheeler bicycles and accessories to Divyangajans and senior citizens during a special event held in Banoli village of Sevapuri block.
Starting his address in the program, the Prime Minister said in a local dialect, “We salute every family of Kashi.”
The people present on it played loud applause.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP state unit president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and many other ministers and public representatives were also present at the event.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed Prime Minister Modi and said in his address that this is the Prime Minister’s 51st visit to Varanasi.
