Security people said that blasts are happening everywhere. Despite this, fulfilling my responsibility, I reached the hospital to see the injured.

Not even three days had passed since he became MLA when suddenly the Godhra incident happened. At that time I was in the assembly. As soon as we left, we said that I want to go to Godhra. I said that we will go to Varodara and from there we will go by helicopter. I was told that the VIP cannot be transported by helicopter. I argued with them that I am not a VIP. I give it in writing that if anything happens, it is my responsibility. After this people agreed to take me there by helicopter.
