Congress has announced that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will contest the by-election from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also been given ticket. According to the information, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will file her Lok Sabha by-election nomination from Wayanad on October 23. Along with him, all the senior leaders of the party including Rahul Gandhi, mother Sonia Gandhi and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge will also go to Wayanad.
During the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had fielded Rahul Gandhi on Wayanad seat. Rahul Gandhi had defeated CPI candidate Annie Raja from Wayanad seat. Apart from Wayanad seat, Rahul Gandhi had also contested elections from Rae Bareli seat of UP and there he won against BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh. After this, Rahul Gandhi left Wayanad seat by keeping Rae Bareli seat. Since then, news was coming that Congress will field Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the by-election of Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, from the Left parties, senior CPI leader Satyan Mokeri will contest from Wayanad to challenge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. CPI fielding Satyan Mokeri in Wayanad simply means that it does not want to let Priyanka Gandhi Vadra win easily.
If Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wins the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election, she will be seen in Parliament along with her brother Rahul Gandhi. Obviously, the brother and sister duo will be seen attacking the Modi government together in the Lok Sabha. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has not contested any election before. However, she has been participating in the election campaign for a long time. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra earlier used to go to Rae Bareli to campaign for her mother Sonia Gandhi. In the Lok Sabha elections held this year, Priyanka Gandhi also took charge of the campaign in favor of Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad and Rae Bareli. He also did road shows with Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad and Rae Bareli.
