Kochi: Clouds of danger are looming over the Lok Sabha membership of Congress MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, Priyanka Gandhi. In fact, BJP leader Navya Haridas has approached the Kerala High Court, challenging her victory on the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat.
Accused of hiding important information
Navya Haridas had contested against Priyanka Gandhi on BJP ticket from Wayanad, but she lost to Priyanka Gandhi by 5,12,399 votes. She stood third behind CPI’s Satyan Mokeri. In his petition before the Kerala High Court, Haridas has argued that Gandhi, while filing his nomination papers, had hidden important information about various properties owned by him and his family.
Accused of misleading voters
According to Haridas, Priyanka Gandhi misled, misinformed and kept voters in the dark with the intention of influencing their choice. The petition also alleged that he exercised undue influence on voters on several occasions and violated the law.
Total movable assets worth Rs 4.24 crore
Let us tell you that Priyanka Gandhi had stated in her election affidavit that she has total movable assets worth Rs 4.24 crore while total immovable assets are worth Rs 13.89 crore. Whereas Priyanka had told that her husband Robert Vadra has total movable assets worth Rs 37.91 crore. According to this election affidavit, Priyanka Gandhi has a loan of about Rs 15 lakh 75 thousand.
