Demonstration against Waqf Amendment Bill
New Delhi: After the protest on March 17 in Delhi, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced to launch a nationwide movement against the Waqf Amendment Bill. Under this, a large-scale protests will be organized in front of the assemblies in Patna on 26 March and Vijayawada on 29 March.

The Board’s spokesperson and the Convenor of the Action Committee constituted against the Waqf Bill, Dr. SQR. Ilyas thanked the leaders of Muslim organizations, civil society movements, Dalits, Adivasi, OBCs and other minority communities, saying “Historical performance of Delhi was not possible without the help of Allah and the support of all these classes.” He also thanked opposition parties and MPs who not only participated in a large number of demonstrations, but also completely rejected the Waqf Amendment Bill. The 31 -member action committee constituted by the board has decided that the bill is not only controversial and biased, but also extremely harmful to minority rights. Therefore, a nationwide movement will be launched against it through constitutional, legal and democratic means.
Demonstration in Patna on 26 March, Vijayawada on 29 March
Under the first phase of the movement, a large-scale protests will be organized in front of the assemblies in Patna on 26 March and Vijayawada on 29 March. The central leadership team of AIMPLB, national and provincial representatives of various religious and social organizations will participate in these strikes. Also, the civil society, prominent representatives of minority communities, and leaders of Dalits, Adivasi and OBC classes will also participate in these movements. The board has also invited leaders and MPs of various political parties to these programs. Although most parties have issued a whip to their MPs due to the Parliament session, the board’s endeavor is to attend these dharna at least Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) opposition members.
Chief Ministers also invited
JDU, RJD, Congress and state -level leaders of Jashakti Party, including the Chief Minister, have been invited to the Patna program. In Andhra Pradesh, invitation has also been sent to the parties of the ruling TDP, YSR Congress, Congress Party and Left Front. Spokesperson Dr. Ilyas said that through both these dharna, BJP’s allies have to give a clear message – or they should withdraw their support from this bill, or be deprived of our support.
Planned plan ready for agitation
According to Dr. Ilyas, the Muslim Personal Law Board has prepared a detailed and phased plan for this movement. Under this, protest programs will be organized in the capital of each state of the country. Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Malerkotla (Punjab) and Ranchi will have large -scale public meetings. Along with this, sit-in strikes and human chains will also be made. This campaign will be given extensive publicity through print, electronic and social media. Hashtag campaigns will be conducted on ‘X’ (East Twitter). Dharna, conferences and demonstrations will be held at every major city and district headquarters, and memorandum will be submitted to the President through district officials and collectors.
