New Delhi. One Puneet Khurana committed suicide after being harassed by his wife and in-laws in Kalyan Vihar, Delhi. This matter is much discussed, before committing suicide, Puneet had recorded a 54-minute video, in which he had mentioned the reason for suicide and the torture done by his in-laws. However, the police refused to give the video even after the family’s demand. At present only the police have Puneet’s phone. However, a part of the video is somehow going viral in the media.

What did Puneet tell in the video before his death?

Puneet told in his video that some conditions were fixed between both the parties for divorce, which were also recognized in the court. The court had given Puneet 180 days time to repay the fixed amount. However, after 90 days passed, the in-laws added new conditions, demanding an additional amount of Rs 10 lakh. Puneet said that he is not able to pay this amount. Puneet and his wife had a bakery business, in which both were partners. There was a phone conversation between Puneet and his wife a few hours before the suicide. The audio of this conversation has also surfaced, in which both are heard arguing about divorce and share in the business. Puneet Khurana committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan in his house on the intervening night of 30th and 31st December. In the video that surfaced after the incident, Puneet has blamed his wife and in-laws for his death.

Puneet said in the video, “I am going to commit suicide. My wife and in-laws are harassing me. Even after the terms of divorce have been finalized, new conditions are being imposed on me. The demand of Rs 10 lakh is beyond my scope. “I can’t ask for more help from my parents, because they have already done so much for me.”

Police engaged in investigation

Police have sent Puneet’s body for postmortem and started investigating the case. Puneet’s family and in-laws are being interrogated. Police are taking further action by using call recording and suicide video as the basis of investigation.
