BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab had completely failed on all fronts.
Chugh made this comment while campaigning in favor of party candidate Jeevan Gupta for Ludhiana West Assembly by -election. The seat was vacant after the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January.
The by -election for this seat will be held on June 19 and the counting of votes will be held on 23 June. Talking to the media, Chugh alleged that Punjab is currently “suffering” from AAP’s “chaotic and directionless rule”. Chugh alleged, “Punjab is facing serious law and order crisis and the state is in debt of more than Rs 4 lakh crore due to full financial mismanagement.”
Chugh claimed that Ludhiana, which was once considered a major industrial center, today suffers from decaying infrastructure, increase in organized crime and misuse of drugs.
He alleged, “Investors are running towards other states, while the youth are feeling cheated by the hollow promises of AAP’s employment and prosperity.”
The BJP leader said that the AAP government could not do anything for the state. He reminded the Bhagwant Maan Sarkar of her “incomplete” promise of giving Rs 1,000 per month to every woman. He alleged, “The AAP government has failed all the fronts in the state.”
The BJP leader accused Bhagwant Maan Sarkar of failing into an anti -drug campaign and claimed that people in the state are still “dying due to drugs”. He said, “I want to ask Bhagwant Mann that 31 May was the last day of drug addiction under the state under ‘War Destroyed’. But today people are dying of drugs. Will we expose the state government?
Chugh called Maan the party and his supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s “puppet”. He said, “Just as the people of Delhi rejected Kejriwal, the people of Punjab will do the same with Bhagwant Mann in 2027.”
BJP candidate Gupta said that the business community in Punjab is particularly suffering under the rule of Maan, “due to lack of a clear, consistent industrial policy.” He said that with the support of the public, he will raise every voice that you have “silent” in Punjab.
