Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Wednesday that the state does not have even a single drop of water to give it to any state. Maan said this in front of the ‘Ravi Beas Water Tribunate’ formed to settle the river water disputes between Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.
In a meeting chaired by the chairman of the tribunal Justice Vineet Saran, members Justice P. Naveen Rao and Justice Suman Shyam and Registrar Rita Chopra, the Chief Minister reiterated that the state reiterated that the state has additional water to share with any other state and no one There is no question of sharing even a drop of water.
According to an official statement, Mann said that Punjab has no additional water to share with any other state and re -evaluation of water availability according to international norms.
He also urged the members of the Tribunal to provide justice to the people of the state. The members of the Tribunal are in Punjab to visit the Ravi water system.
Maan said that 76.5 percent of Punjab’s blocks (117 out of 153) are highly exploited, where groundwater level levels are more than 100 percent, while in Haryana only 61.5 percent blocks (88 out of 143) are highly exploited.
The Chief Minister said that since most river water resources in the state have dried up, it needs more water to meet its irrigation needs.
Mann said that the situation is so serious that Punjab has very little water, which he is able to give only to his food producers.
He said that in such a situation there is no question of sharing even a drop of water with another state.
