The case of the murder of 25 -year -old tennis player Radhika Yadav in Gurugram has shocked the entire country. Radhika’s father Deepak Yadav (51), who shot and killed his daughter, told his family in police custody, “Brother, I have slaughtered the girl. Get me write such an FIR to write such an FIR that I get hanged.” Radhika’s uncle Vijay Yadav shared this with reporters on 12 July 2025. Deepak also confessed his crime in front of the police and said that he had deep regrets of his actions.
The incident took place on July 10 in a two -storey house in Sushant Lok, Sector 57, when Deepak shot Radhika from behind while making breakfast in the kitchen, which fired four bullets. According to the police, Deepak opened fire with his license revolver. Radhika died on the spot. The police arrested Deepak and on July 12, the court sent him to 14 days judicial custody.
Police investigation revealed that Deepak had to hear the taunts of the villagers that he was living on his daughter’s earnings. Radhika was a tennis coach and used to train the players at various places. Deepak asked Radhika several times to stop coaching, but she refused, causing tension between the two. A neighbor also claimed that Deepak had an objection to Radhika’s love affair and the desire of marriage in another caste.
Radhika’s friend Himanshika Singh told on social media that Radhika was saddened by control and criticism in the house for the last 10 days. He had to listen to taunts to wear short clothes and talk to boys. Radhika had expressed her desire to leave home on WhatsApp and go abroad from her coach. The police gave a clean chit to Radhika’s mother Manju Yadav, as she was not aware of the murder plan or incident.
