New Delhi. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has been granted conditional bail by the Chaibasa MP-MLA court of Jharkhand in a defamation case today. The court has directed Rahul Gandhi to cooperate in the case trial. The case is related to the objectionable remarks made against senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. At the Congress session on March 2018, Rahul Gandhi made objectionable remarks against the then BJP President Amit Shah. After this, BJP leader Pratap Kumar filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in Chaibasa CJM Court in Jharkhand.

Rahul Gandhi was issued summons several times to appear in court in this case, but he was not appearing for two years. After this, on 24 May, the court issued a non -bailable warrant against Rahul Gandhi and ordered him to appear in the court on 26 June. Rahul Gandhi had approached the Jharkhand High Court challenging this order of Chaibasa Court, but he did not get relief from there. The High Court had directed Rahul Gandhi to appear personally before the Chaibasa MP-MLA court on 6 August. Rahul Gandhi appeared in court today while following this order.
