Rahul Gandhi’s opinion on caste census
Rahul Gandhi also highlighted the importance of caste census. He said that it is an attempt to know how the lower, backward castes and Dalits will be integrated into the Indian system. He said that out of 200 businesses in India, 90 percent of the country’s population has no ownership. They also do not have participation in the top courts and media. Rahul Gandhi also said that the caste census will help in understanding the social and economic condition of the backward and Dalits, so that their participation in Indian institutions can be properly assessed.
BJP’s counter attack
There has been a strong reaction from the BJP on this statement of Rahul Gandhi. The BJP has described it as divisive and against the Constitution. The complainants have accused Rahul Gandhi of making irresponsible statements on a sensitive issue like reservation.
